The Burrows Company
is dedicated to providing high quality information technology
to better serve our health care partners. This technology
provides various ways to transact, electronically, the
vital information necessary to conduct day-to-day business
in the most effective way.
Traditional systems such as electronic order entry (EOE)
and electronic data interchange (EDI) have always provided
and will continue to provide efficient ways of doing
business with The Burrows Company.
Additionally, Burrows has integrated Internet and Web
based technology solutions, such as AS2 and XML, which
have further streamlined business processes across the
healthcare supply chain. Healthcare industry organizations
such as the Health
Business Communications Council (HIBCC) and the
Health Care
eBusiness Collaborative (HCEC) have developed standards
and guidelines that provide greater efficiency when
doing business electronically. The Burrows Company is
a member of both organizations and supports their initiatives
in using the ANSI X12 standards, the Health
Industry Number (HIN), the United
Nations Standard Product and Services Code (UNSPSC),
and in particular, the Universal
Product Number (UPN).
Burrows has endorsed a Joint Communiqué supporting
the industry-wide UPN initiative to standardize product
numbering and labeling in health care. Additionally, Burrows endorses the industry's
use of the Global
Locator Number (GLN) standard in identifying healthcare
supply chain entities within electronic commerce as
outlined by the Coalition
for Healthcare
eStandards (CHeS).
These information technology solutions enhance the high
quality commitment that The Burrows Company continues
to provide.
